S2 Miele Olympus
For the consumer looking for a large bag capacity and the Combo floor tool, this vacuum is more than ideal at a reasonably low price. The Combo floor tool features a toggle switch for use on low nap carpeting or area rugs.
S6 Quartz / Red Velvet
These entry level S6 canister model shas the same suction power as the $1000 S5 vacuums which make is a great hard floor cleaner. Both vacuums come with the Combo Tool which also works well on very light nap carpeting. If you only have hard floors you may want to consider the SBB400-3 XL parquet tool for its soft bristles, large size and 360 degrees of motion.
S5 Miele Ariel
This base model S5 machine, like the Olympus and Polaris, comes standard with the Combo tool. Unique to the S5 series however is the Sealed System with an insulated layer for very quiet operation and concealed storage of the onboard attachments.
Miele S194
Miele's stick vacuums are great at cleaning hard surfaces. Their small and versatile but it is important to note that they cannot stand up on their own. (The S168 can if you combine it with the 236 floor tool.)
Miele S7 Vacuums
If you are looking for a more robust upright the entry level S7 will excel in all aspects in regards to hard floor cleaning. the long cord, long wand, on board tools, swivel neck, low profile and superior filtration ensure you are ready for any task at hand. If you have allergies you might want to either add a HEPA filter to the twist or upgrade to a model that includes the HEPA and also comes with a headlight like the S7 Jazz.
